UK Street Dance Championships

A selection of the adult group entered into the UK Street Dance championships in October 2008, coming an impressive 4th in the adult crew divison. An adult and children’s crew competed in last years competition on sunday 25th October 2009 who came 3rd and 5th in their divisions. Danzfusion are set to compete again this year on Sunday 24th October 2010. Please see below for further info and on the lastest news and events page.

Groups are judged on technical difficultly, artistic performance, attitude, originality and musical interpretation. The competition is judged by Del Mak, Rie Fujii, Wendy Dow and Xavi Monreal, who have danced and worked with the likes of Jamelia, Gwen Stefani and Kanye West.

The day is filled with solo freestyle battles and group performances aswell as workshops and an evening showcase. The event is held locally at The Cresset, Peterborough. • Wednesday 13th October 8-9pm Opening section (adults- showzone)
• Wednesday 20th October 8-9pm All sections (adult- showzone)
• Saturday 9^th October 1:00-3:00 All members of showzone
• Saturday 16th October 1:00-2:00 Under 17’s and 2:00-3:00 Showzone
• Saturday 23rd October 1:00-4:00 both groups will practice as final run-through. Times for each group to be confirmed
• Wednesday 21^st October 8:00-9:00 adults

Rehearsals for the competition will be continuing during normal weekly classes. I urge regular attendance as practice time is limited! Extra rehearsals and costume information will be posted shortly.

Passes:

Although you will not need to be there for the entire day please leave the day completely free as the timetable is subject to changes. I have booked the passes for the children competing but it is up to you to book your spectators passes. All children participating must have at least one adult present and responsible for them for the duration of the time at the event. You can book your spectators passes online (£10 before September 25^th or £12.50 after and £15 on the door) under the event passes title on the website.

On the day of the competition we will meet outside the front entrance of the Cresset so that I can distribute the performer’s passes and register everyone. A meeting time will be given once this has been confirmed by the event organisers.
